George Michael was sentenced to eight weeks in jail Tuesday for driving under the influence of drugs.
Last month the pop icon pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and possession of cannabis after he crashed his car into a London photo shop July 4. Police found him sitting in the car the engine was still running and said he appeared “spaced out.” They also said that he admitted to smoking marijuana and taking a sedative.
District Judge John Perkins told Michael that his addiction to marijuana put him and the public at risk, and that he had taken a “dangerous and unpredictable mix” of marijuana and prescription pills.
