Sounding Off On Adam
Managing Editor Michael Patrick Nelson’s column detailing his first listen of American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert’s debut album, For Your Entertainment, garnered responses from all corners of the Web. What follows are a sampling of the comments posted in response to Mike’s column.
Well, a first listen is nice and all, but how can you seriously review an album after only one listen? Especially when some songs are a little sophisticated and layered… I hardly ever say anything about music until I’ve heard it a few times, because the first impesssion doesn’t always stay—sometimes a song you didn’t initially like grows on you, and sometimes a song you initially digged starts annoying you. Anyway, thanks for sharing your INITIAL reactions, LOL!

Entertainment Weekly has already given an excellent review of his album, and rated it as a strong B+. However, I totally disagree with you about “Aftermath.” There is nothing pompous detected from this song at all, plus it gives him a chance to really show his vocal prowess. This is, in fact, the best album released by an Idol finalist (trust me, I bought Ruben’s and Taylor’s CDs only to turn them into very nice drink coasters a week later).

That was the strangest album review I have ever read. What the F are you talking about? You make absolutely no sense…just another person that likes to hear themselves talk about nothing. Maybe next time you might consider talking about the music more. Jeeeesus!

We’ve Gone Viral
Dear Editor:
When your competitor started charging for online articles, I went on a search for something better. I was already disenchanted with my Long Island news sources, so you can imagine my joy when I found your site. I’ve read your papers around town, but never realized you had a team of talented writers making valuable and up-to-date contributions online. I am spreading the word. Long Island Press is getting it done. Kudos!!
