So, last week we were at a party and this guy said “Oh you’re vegan? The fish is over there.” Not many people know exactly what the vegan diet entails or that it is even different from being a vegetarian. Here’s the short version:
Vegans don’t eat animal products period. That means no gelatin, honey, etc. and checking labels for hidden ingredients. For example, many candies are not vegan because they contain gelatin.
Vegetarians eat no meat, but eat animal products such as cakes and other things made using milk and eggs.
