That’s exactly what Shawn Fogel does with Neutral Uke Hotel, a project that exists solely to bring alive a ukulele version of Neutral Milk Hotel’s wildly popular concept album In The Aeroplane Over The Sea in its entirety.

The Blow hit the CMJ circuit a few years back with an unusually stripped-down live set. Formerly a duo, the Portland, Ore. outfit is known for mixing minimalist electro with catchy melodies and live sets that border on performance art. Despite the departure of Jona Bechtolt, The Blow drifts on. This time around, vocalist Khaela Maricich will tackle CMJ solo.
