Neon Indian @ Bowery Ballroom, 8-8:30 p.m.
Psychic Chasms, ’09’s awesome album from Neon Indian, is like being inside a music factory inside a Super Nintendo. There are plenty of mono- and 8-bit-sounding noises, some sounding like distorted guitars and synthesizers, some sounding like the death cry of one of the ghosts in Pac-Man. It’s all wound together flawlessly by Chief of the Neon Indian tribe Alan Palomo.
UNKLE @ Webster Hall, 8:45-9:45 p.m.
UNKLE has gone through several lineup changes over the course of its 16-year history and has shifted sounds all over the audible map with guest vocals from all corners of the iTunes Music Store. So unless you’ve got somewhere really pressing to be Saturday night, odds are something coming out of the speakers at Webster Hall during UNKLE’s set will appeal to you.
