Alure Extreme Story

by Long Island Press on June 23, 2010

Gulf Coast Visit

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition visited the Gulf Coast to help out several communities that were destroyed by Hurricanes Rita and Katrina during the nasty 2005 hurricane season.

Alure President and CEO Sal Ferro, who after five makeovers had become a recognizable face on the show, made a special appearance to help support the makeover of the Sabine Pass Firehouse in Sabine Pass, Texas.

The heroic men of Firehouse #4 had been working and living out of a small trailer on the outskirts of town.

“It’s easy to feel disconnected when you are so far away from the devastation. Just as New York experienced the devastation of 9/11, the Gulf Coast experienced similar devastation from hurricanes Rita and Katrina,” said Ferro. “We as a country have to share in helping the rebuilding effort. Seeing firsthand the devastation truly hit home just how bad it was, and how much they really need help.”

Through the help and donation by Motorola and the Nassau County Fire Chiefs Association, Ferro was able to deliver over $20,000 worth of radios for the firefighters. He also delivered a beautiful Dalmatian, which was rescued from a shelter, to the heroic men of Firehouse #4 in Sabine Pass.

Wedding & Event FAQ
Q- Does the flower girl have to wear white or ivory to match the bride?

A-Your flower girl can wear any colored dress, which of course coordinates with the rest of your wedding party. If you choose for her to wear white or ivory, you can accent the dress with the bridal party color sash or appliqué. She can also wear the color of the bridal party and to differentiate her, you can add a white or ivory sash. Choose something that you feel will coordinate best with the rest of your bridal party.
