Bridgehampton Driver Hits Police Car

A man suspected of drunken driving plowed his BMW into a police car on Long Island while the officer was parked on the roadside.

The incident happened early Saturday on Montauk Highway in Bridgehampton. Southampton Town Police say 48-year-old Michael Feigenbaum was driving a 2004 BMW when he veered off the highway and rear-ended a police car.

The officer had stopped another car and was parked on the shoulder with his emergency lights blinking.

Feigenbaum was arrested for driving while intoxicated. The officer was treated for his injuries at Southampton Hospital.

There was no phone number listed at Feingenbaum’s Bridgehampton address.
