Freeport Vehicle Fire Victim ID’d

The victim of a recent homicide whose body was discovered in a burning vehicle behind a temple in Freeport Friday night has been identified as 28-year-old Rahmeil Sutton, of 740 Carter Street, Rochester, New York, according to Nassau County Homicide Squad detectives.

fire2-300x2253Freeport Police and Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle on fire at the rear of B’nai Israel Temple at 91 North Bayview Avenue Friday evening, Dec. 11, say detectives. Officers discovered Sutton’s remains inside the unknown-model Dodge once the blaze was extinguished. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 10 p.m., according to detectives, and transported to the Nassau County Medical Examiners Office.

Detectives ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
