Time For Lunch – Mon 9.7

by Long Island Press on September 6, 2009

SCHOOLS PROMOTING HEALTHThis Labor Day, Slow Food Huntington and Starflower Experiences are hosting a community Eat-In (picnic) as part of Slow Food USA’s campaign calling for better school food. The campaign is called Time For Lunch and is part of a nation-wide day of action- more than 250 eat-ins have been scheduled, so far, across the country.

The Eat-In is going to take place at Manor Farm in Huntington (210 Manor Rd., Huntington) from noon till 4.  The event is free and open to all.

The Time for Lunch Campaign is asking parents, teachers and every responsible citizen to speak up and tell our nation’s leaders that change can’t wait: It’s time to provide our children with REAL FOOD at school.

So on Labor Day, bring your own home-cooked “real food” picnic lunch to share with family and friends-the kind of lunch you’d like to see served at school.

This a plastic-bottle-free event – Manor Farm is in the Greenlawn Water District where the tap water tastes particularly good (they don’t chlorinate) – so bring cups or refillable bottles.

Wedding & Event FAQ
Q- Does the flower girl have to wear white or ivory to match the bride?

A-Your flower girl can wear any colored dress, which of course coordinates with the rest of your wedding party. If you choose for her to wear white or ivory, you can accent the dress with the bridal party color sash or appliqué. She can also wear the color of the bridal party and to differentiate her, you can add a white or ivory sash. Choose something that you feel will coordinate best with the rest of your bridal party.
