A Copiague man was arrested Tuesday night for driving while intoxicated on the Southern State Parkway after nearly colliding with a New York State police vehicle, New York State police said.
According to state police, Marcos P. Carpio was driving a 1997 Volkswagen westbound on the Southern State when he was pulled over at approximately 11:45 p.m. near Route 110 following a near-collision with a marked state police vehicle.
An investigation revealed Carpio was intoxicated. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Farmingdale State Police facility, where he provided a breath sample of .14.
Carpio was charged with DWI and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He is due in Suffolk County First District Court on Feb. 12.
