An Elmont deli clerk thwarted two armed robbers on Saturday afternoon, Nassau police said.
Two men armed with a handgun walked into the deli on Linden Boulevard and demanded money from the 55-year-old cashier at 4:15p.m., according to 5th Squad detectives.
Another employee pulled out a shotgun, causing the two robbers to flee in an unknown direction.
No injuries were reported.
Detectives are asking any members of the public with information pertaining to the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain anonymous.
