Two waitresses working at Long Island Hooters restaurants have filed a lawsuit complaining that the chain violates labor laws by making them pay for their skimpy uniforms.
Gina Rosati and Amy Frederick say they have to shell out around $20 for their tank tops, tights and orange short shorts.
They also have to launder the items themselves, which is prohibited by state law when an employer requires a worker to wear a uniform.
Lawyers for the women filed the suit this week at a federal court in Brooklyn against a company that owns Hooters restaurants in East Meadow, Islandia and Fresh Meadows. The owners had no comment.
