Suffolk County Police arrested a Utica man on Tuesday for breaking into a Ronkonkoma man’s home and stabbing him last month.
Mark Callahan, 37, was charged with first-degree burglary and second-degree attempted murder for allegeldy stabbing 68-year-old Roger Monteforte while he was in bed at his Matice Place home on Sept. 25. Callahan will be arranged at First District Court in Central Islip on Wednesday.
Monteforte, who suffered mutiple stab wounds during the attack, was taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition. Following several weeks of care, he was released, 4th Squad detectives say.
Callahan was being held at Suffolk County Jail on an unrelated Sept. 27 arrest for criminal contempt.
