The latest celebrity death hoax victim is rocker Jon Bon Jovi.
Twitter has been lighting up with posts about the musician’s alleged untimely demise.
“I’m stunned at the loss of Jon Bon Jovi,” one Tweeter posted. “For me, it’s a bigger loss than losing Michael Jackson. JBJ defined rock in the 80’s. What a loss.”
According to a story posted by Daily New International blog he was found in a coma at his Empress hotel in Asbury Park, NJ.
From what we’ve heard, the 49-year-old is alive and well. First of all, the report says that “hundreds of reporters” were outside of the hospital waiting for news on the singer’s condition. However, this blog post is the only place confirming that Bon Jovi died.
Why was Bon Jovi targeted? Probably because of his new spot in an Advil commercial. “Pain doesn’t have much of a place in my life, I checked the schedule and it’s not on it,” he says in the commercial. The clip shows the superstar with his son, performing and working in his restaurant, Bon Jovi Soul Kitchen.
Last year he injured his calf muscle during a concert in New Jersey. He later explained that he uses Advil for all the aches and pains he gets while on tour. When Advil got wind of this, they asked him to endorse the product.
Jon Bon Jovi isn’t the only celebrity to have suffered from a death hoax. Other “dead” stars include Jaden Smith, Bill Cosby, Bobby Brown, Jackie Chan and Adam Sandler. Smith was said to have died in a snowboarding incident and Chan supposedly died of a heart attack.
Even Nelson Mandella isn’t safe from the death rumors. In September it was reported that he died. Many people believed that the 93-year-old’s death was for real, especially since he was hospitalized earlier this year after suffering an acute respiratory infection.
