Model Crystal Renn has been revealed as the new face of the famous luxury shoe, accessory and perfume brand Jimmy Choo. In her first major campaign of the year Renn, who’s 8-10 sized figure is considered “plus sized”, looks fabulous in photos for the Spring/Summer 2010 line.
Booting out Amber Valletta as the face of Jimmy Choo, The series of colorful ads were shot by the Dutch photography duo Innez and Vinoodh. The campaign shows Renn wearing the latest Jimmy Choo trends against the backdrop of vibrant color blocks.
Renn is doing an unprecedented amount of high-fashion work for a plus-size model, having already appeared in campaigns for Jean-Paul Gautier and Chanel and walking in their shows along with Zac Posen’s, New York Magazine’s fashion blog The Cut reports. The model has expressed how excite she is about getting more and more high-end gigs and has previously expressed her excitement that the fashion industry is becoming increasingly accepting of those who stray away from the model norm, MSN reports.
“I’m still different from most of the girls at the castings but when I first started, the girls were all blonde, all emaciated and miserable looking,” said Renn. “Now, there’s more ethnic diversity. The girls are not as skinny as before.”
With all of the attention Renn has been receiving, she points out that. more and more the fashion industry is increasingly celebrating individuality and dismissing conformity.
“There is change happening in the industry,” said Renn. “There is more allowance for people to be different. I’m so impressed. I can’t wait for next season.”
