With a lineup of over 100 bands, Lollapalooza kicked off this weekend’s 3-day music festival with a bang and is showing no signs of slowing down.
Starting at 11 a.m. this morning, and lasting until Sunday night, Lollapalooza will be showcasing artists like Green Day, Lady Gaga, and Soundgarden—yes, Soundgarden! Distance (and time) has made the heart grow fonder and the beloved group has reunited after 12 years, just in time to headline this year’s display of music madness.
These performance, coupled with a total of eight stages and dozens of staggered acts, ensure that fans can rock out from morning ‘till night. Switchfoot, Phoenix, Matt & Kim, MGMT and Arcade Fire are included in the mix.
Originally created by Perry Farrell as the farewell tour for his band Jane’s Addiction, Lollapalooza has been providing music lovers with hours upon hours of ear-tantalizing entertainment. Incepted in 1997 and revived in 2003, Lollapalooza is more than just fun to say—it’s a seemingly endless concert event. This year’s festivities are being held at Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois.
