Suffolk County police are looking for an arsonist that last week set fire to Sweet Hollow Hall, a community center in West Hills County Park.
The hall was completely destroyed in the fire that was reported at 1:25 a.m. on Dec. 10.
It was historically used as a church before being acquired by Suffolk County and used as a public meeting hall for several not-for-profit organizations and clubs.
Starflower Experiences, Inc. offered environmental education programs for children at the hall.
Arson Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating the person or people responsible for setting the fire.
Crime Stoppers and the Suffolk County Arson Task Force are offering combined cash rewards of up to $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. Information can also be phoned into the Arson Task Force at 631-654-1211. All calls will be kept confidential.
