A Riverhead man has been accused of drunken driving after Southold Town Police said he crashed his vehicle in Mattituck on Monday evening.
Police said Noel Castaneda was driving on Sound Avenue when he was involved in a collision and ran away from the scene shortly before 8 p.m.
Officers apprehended the 26-year-old man shortly later and found him to be under the influence of alcohol, police said.
Castaneda was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving without a license.
He was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at Southold Town Justice Court.
