Islip Terrace Car Crash Kills Woman, 41

A 41-year-old woman was killed when a motorcycle crashed into the car she was riding in Saturday eveing in Islip Terrace.

Suffolk County police said Christian Vogel was riding a Yamaha northbound on Connetquot Avenue when he hit the rear passenger side door of a southbound Nissan Altima that was turning left into a strip mall at 5:23 p.m.

The woman died from her injuries. Vogel was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where he is listed in critical condition.


The driver of the car, Brandie Raynor, and her two male passengers were not injured. The victim was not immediately identified.

Both Raynor and Vogel are 24 and from Central Islip.

The vehicles were impounded for safety checks while the investigation is continuing.
