A man and woman have been apprehended following an attempted robbery in Blue Point and Suffolk County police chase that ended in Eastport on Thursday night, authorities said.
Officers responded to a 911 call of someone acting suspiciously at Dunkin’ Donuts on Montauk Highway in Blue Point and upon arrival found there had been an attempted robbery at 9:40 p.m.
Kerry Crosby, 22, of Farmingville, was arrested at the scene. Another suspect, 23-year-old Craig Cherney of Mastic, fled in a Jeep Cherokee but later lost control of the SUV, which overturned on County Road 51 in Eastport, police said.
Crosby and Cherney were each charged with attempted robbery. Cherney was additionally charged with robbery for allegedly holding up the Carvel in Bayport on Wednesday, police said.
Crosby will be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Central Islip. Cherney was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue.
Fifth Squad detectives are continuing the investigation.
