North Amityville Shooting Death Leads to 2 Arrests

by Timothy Bolger on April 26, 2012

A grand jury has indicted two men on charges that they were involved in a shooting that left a 44-year-old man dead near his North Amityville home and left two others wounded two years ago.

Allan McGhee pleaded not guilty Wednesday at Suffolk County court to second-degree murder, two counts of second-degree attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

Prosecutors said McGhee shot and killed James Terry in the parking lot of the Andpress Plaza apartment complex on Jan. 12, 2010.

A second suspect, Shawn Lawrence, also pleaded not guilty to second-degree attempted murder.

Judge William Condon ordered both men held without bail. They are due back in court May 16.
