Everyone thinks that Woolly Mammoths are extinct, but according to a paranormal investigator, that’s not the case. He even has video to prove it.
The shaky video was reportedly taken last summer by a government-employed engineer in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug region of Siberia who was in the area surveying for a planned road.
“Rumors of a handful of mammoths still kicking around in the vast wilderness of Siberia have been circulating for decades and occasionally sightings by locals have occured,” paranormal writer Michael Cohen, who has the copyright on the video, told the Sun.
“Siberia is an enormous territory and much of it remains completely unexplored and untouched by humans,” he went on to say. “It is highly possible that a number of species, extinct elsewhere, survive in the area.”
Woolly Mammoths have been extinct for about 4,000 years, though a small population remained on and around Wrangel Island, off the coast of Siberia. They only died out 3,500 years ago.
Still, many are skeptical about the authenticity of the video. Critics wonder why the video was just released if it has been around since last summer, and are confused about why the videographer only taped 10 seconds of the animal crossing the river, and stopped before it got ashore. The low quality of the video is also suspicious, since even the lowest level cameras can focus better.
Another reason for many people’s doubt is the affiliation with Cohen, who has released “questionable” alien and UFO videos in the past.
Different theories about the video rang from a computer-generated animal digitally inserted into the scene to a bear with a fish in its mouth.
