A woman who called 911 seeking medical attention was arrested for drunken driving on the Southern State Parkway in Franklin Square over the weekend, New York State police said.
Karimah Simon was speaking with an emergency medical technician when a Trooper arrived on the scene and smelled alcohol on her breath at 6:11 a.m. Friday, police said.
The 26-year-old Shirley woman failed sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol content of 0.18 percent, more than twice the legal limit, police said.
She also gave the Trooper a false name, police said.
Simon was charged with driving while intoxicated as a felony due to a prior conviction in past 10 years, false impersonation, driving without a license and other traffic violations.
She will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead.
