Beyonce has just released her latest track “Best Thing I Never Had.”
“I wanted you bad, I’m so through with it, cause honestly you turned out to be the best thing I never had, you turned out to be the best thing I never had, and I’m gon’ always be the best thing you never had,”sings Beyonce in her latest single.
The ballad is a little different than her previous singles from her 4th album, “Run the World(Girls),” and shows a side of Beyonce we rarely see. Beyonce co-wrote the song with Babyface and like MTV suggested, reminds us of her 2006 hit “Irreplaceable,” in which Beyonce sings uncandidly about moving on from an unfaithful ex.
“There was a time where I thought you did everything right, no lies, no wrong, boy I must have been out of my mind,” sings Beyonce. She goes on, “So when I think about the time I almost loved you, you showed the real you, thank you, thank god you blew it, I dodged the bullet, I’m so over you, so baby good looking out.”
The cover for her new single shows a very blonde Beyonce dressed up and staring into the mirror of a bathroom and writing “King B” on the mirror in red lipstick.
Earlier, she released the single, “Run the World(Girls)” which debuted during “American Idol.” “Who run the world? Girls,” Beyonce sings, bringing back the girl-power anthems she’s best known for producing.
Both songs come as the first few singles of off Beyonce’s fourth solo album, 4. The album is due out on June 28th.
