Cops: Dix Hills Man Robbed 7 Banks in 5 Weeks

A 21-year-old man has been arrested for robbing seven banks in the past five weeks, Suffolk County police said.

Max Schneider of Dix Hills was apprehended by MTA police on a Long Island Rail Road train in Brooklyn on Thursday. He was charged with seven counts of robbery.

Detectives said Schneider robbed four TD Bank branches: one in North Babylon on Feb. 17, one in West Islip on Feb. 23, one in Commack on March 2 and one in Lake Grove on March 24.


He is also accused of robbing the  Bank of America in Deer Park on March 4, the  Capital One in Babylon on March 11 and the Bank of America in West Babylon on March 18.

An accomplice, 21-year-old Vito Frabizio of Deer Park, was also arrested and charged with one count of robbery for allegedly helping Schneider in the Feb. 23 robbery.

Both men will be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Central Islip.

Major Case Investigations Unit detectives are continuing the investigation. Additional charges are anticipated, police said.
