The top bass anglers in the nation will participate in the 2011 Bassmasters Classic starting today.

Some of the top fisherman will gather in New Orleans at Bayou Segnette State Park.

The Classic starts today and a champion will be crowned Sunday Jan. 20.

There are 50 qualifiers in the Classic, with six having won the tournament before. Those include: Kevin VanDam, Boyd Duckett, Skeet Reese, Paul Elias, Michael Iaconelli and Mark Davis.

Although a large amount of those competing are veterans, 15 of the qualifiers will be in their first Bassmaster Classic with the hopes of conquering the New Orleans waters.
