Suffolk County police are classifying the death of a missing woman whose body was found in the woods near her Patchogue home as a homicide.
Police say the body of 31-year-old Nicole Tessa was found Tuesday near her Prince Street home after she had been reported missing over the weekend.
Tessa’s husband, Joseph Jones, told Newsday on Tuesday that he and his wife had an argument the night of Dec. 17. He said he left the house and she was gone when he returned.
Police did not release any details on the cause of death.
Police say there is no connection between this case and the bodies of four women found on a barrier island over a week ago.
