A dead body was found Tuesday in the woods near the Patchogue home of a woman who was reported missing over the weekend.
Suffolk County police said they don’t have details on the body’s gender or identity.
The body was discovered near Nicole Tessa’s home on Prince Street.
Police say the 31-year-old woman hasn’t been seen since Dec. 17. She was reported missing Sunday.
Tessa’s husband, Joseph Jones, told Newsday on Tuesday that he and his wife had an argument the night of Dec. 17. He said he left the house and she was gone when he returned.
Police say there is no connection between this case and the bodies of four women found on a Jones Beach Island over a week ago.
