Graco strollers are being recalled after four infants died while inside them.
The recall is for 2 million Graco strollers sold prior to 2008.
The danger to infants stems from the potential for them to be trapped between the seat bottom and the stroller’s tray. In addition to the four infants who died, one had problems breathing and another five were cut by the strollers.
The Graco strollers recalled, manufactured by Graco Children’s Products Inc., are the MetroLite stroller and Quattro Tour stroller. The strollers were sold between November 2000 and December 2007 primarily at Wal-Mart, Babies R Us, Fred Meyer, Target, Burlington Coat Factory, Sears and K-mart.
A list of model numbers for the Graco strollers being recalled is online.
The Graco stroller recall was first made public by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Parents are urged by Graco to stop using the strollers and contact the manufacturer for a repair kit.
