Atlantic Honda of Bay Shore and yourLI awarded a 2 year lease on a 2010 Honda accord LX sedan to Diana Cocchiaro of Aquebogue.
About 2,100 people entered the “car giveaway” contest. It was then narrowed down to 100 contestants, who were brought into Atlantic Honda, and handed a CD. Each contestant sat in the car and played the CD they were given. If their CD played the sound of a car starting… they won. So you can imagine how surprised Diana Cocchiaro was when she played the winning CD.
“I feel amazing…. I cannot believe I won this car.” Diana Cocchiaro said with a smile stretching from ear to ear.
For the grand prize winner, this couldn’t have come at a better time. Diana just recently lost her business due to the financial crisis. Her husband has been diagnosed with a serious illness which has confined him to a wheel chair. Diana really needed a reliable vehicle to get her to work, and her husband’s doctor appointments.
Atlantic Honda’s General Manager Ricky Alessi tells us just how much this meant to him and his staff.
“We wanted to help someone out that could possibly win a car who really needed one.” Alessi continues, “It feels incredible to be able to do that.”
