A Bay Shore drug dealer was convicted Wednesday of fatally shooting a rival on the front porch of the victim’s home nearly two years ago.
A Suffolk jury found Maurice Wallace, 26, guilty of second-degree murder for shooting 40-year-old Paul Joell, of Bay Shore, on Sept. 5, 2008.
Prosecutors say Joell was a rival drug dealer of Wallace. Joell also served as a Newsday employee for more than a decade, according to their website.
He was shot while talking with two people on his front porch and died at Southside Hospital.
Wallace faces 25 years to life in prison when he is sentenced on Oct. 5.
