Dallas tourists had a front row seat at artist Erykah Badu’s music video shoot this spring, and watched the progression of the artist’s attire vacate the premises.
Badu, the R&B artist known for her eclectic dress and soulful vocals, has paid $500 and will serve six months on probation for stripping in Dealey Plaza during her “Window Seat” music video. The striptease ended with Badu lying on the ground, nude, as if she had been shot.
Police cited the artist for disorderly conduct in April after a witness complained. Dallas city spokesman Frank Librio said that Badu paid the fine on Friday.
Badu, born Erica Wright, has won two Grammys for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance and Best R&B Album for her 1997 debut album Baduizm. The artist’s other albums include Mama’s Gun in 2000, Worldwide Underground in 2003, New Amerykah Part One: 4th World War in 2008 and New Amerykah Part Two: Return Of The Ankh in 2010.
She recently performed at Lollapalooza at Grant Park in Chicago.
