A 47-year-old pedestrian was hit by a car at early Saturday morning in his hometown of North Babylon and is in critical condition.
Suffolk County police said Kevin Vesoloski was walking west on Deer Park Avenue near Shipman Avenue when he was struck by a southbound Infiniti at 4:20 a.m. The victim was taken to West Islip’s Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center and is listed in critical condition.
Kimberly Hughes, the 26-year-old Deer Park resident who was driving the car, was not injured.
Vesoloski was identified by his nephew after police found a piece of paper with his phone number written on it on the roadway.
