Suffolk County police arrested two Mastic men for an alleged anti-gay attack at a Mastic Beach high school Tuesday morning.
Nashon Minter, 19, and Justin Higgins, 21, entered William Floyd High School, chased a student down the hallway “then beat him while making anti-sexual orientation epithets towards the victim” at about 9:45 a.m., police said in a statement.
Security guards at the school on Mastic Beach Road broke up the fight and held Minter and Higgins until officers arrived.
Hate Crimes Unit detectives charged Minter and Higgins, who live together on Meadowmere Avenue, with assault as a hate crime. They will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Wednesday.
The relation between the two suspects was not immediately clear.
