Suffolk County Police arrested three teenagers Saturday in connection with robberies in Shirley and Mastic Beach last week.
On Feb. 2, 16-year-olds Zachary Polini and Jules Bahler, both of Shirley, robbed a Dominos Pizza deliveryman at gunpoint, police said. After threatening the man with the gun, they demanded his money and fled the scene in his vehicle, according to police.
Three days later, Polini, Bahler and an unnamed 15-year-old accomplice robbed a man on Hickory Road in Mastic Beach, police said. The three suspects approached the man, who was on his bicycle. They demanded money and beat the man with a bat before fleeing, police said.
Suffolk police tracked down the suspects using a police helicopter and K-9 unit.
All suspects were charged with robbery and gang assault. Polini and Bahler were also charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle for the Dominos robbery. The juvenile was charged as an adult, but police did not release his name.
The investigation is continuing. Detectives ask that anyone with additional information about these crimes contact the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.
