A Long Island woman is being held on $250,000 cash bail after being charged with first-degree manslaughter in her boyfriend’s stabbing death.
Kathleen McGettigan was arraigned Saturday. Her lawyer’s name wasn’t immediately on record, and court officials couldn’t immediately say whether she entered a plea.
Suffolk County police say McGettigan stabbed 45-year-old David Harris in the leg during an argument Friday at their home in Shirley. Harris died at a hospital.
Detective Lt. Jack Fitzpatrick says police had been called to the couple’s home for minor disturbances four times in the last three years — at least twice by McGettigan.
The 56-year-old McGettigan faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted.
