A Connecticut jury has acquitted a former high school teacher of charges he had sex with a teenage student in his Milford apartment in 2003.
Peter Eramo Jr. says he will now try to put his life back together. Eramo says he’s moved back in with his parents in Mineola and works at a pet store. He says he can’t find any other jobs, despite having a master’s degree from Columbia University.
The former Westport, Conn., teacher was acquitted Wednesday of second-degree sexual assault. The girl, who was 17, made the allegations in 2006.
Eramo soundlessly mouthed “thank you” to the jurors and bowed to them after the verdict.
