A Travis County jury has found Paul Devoe guilty of capital murder in two of six 2007 slayings in two states that he’s accused of.
The Austin American-Statesman reports that jurors took less than 20 minutes Friday to return their verdicts in the killings of 15-year-old Haylie Faulkner and 17-year-old Danielle Hensley. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
Devoe also is accused of killing Faulkner’s mother, Devoe’s ex-girlfriend Paula Griffith, and Griffith’s boyfriend Jay Feltner at a house in the Austin suburb of Jonestown. The teens’ bodies also were found there.
Prosecutors say Devoe had fatally shot Michael Allred at a Marble Falls bar earlier that day. Three days later, Devoe allegedly had car trouble near State Line, Pa., killed Betty Jane Dehart and stole her vehicle. He was arrested in Shirley, on Aug. 27, 2007.
