Parents for Megan’s Law and The Crime Victims Center Executive Director
After Congress passed Megan’s Law in the mid-1990s, Ahearn founded Parents for Megan’s Law and the Crime Victims Center, her national advocacy organization based in Stony Brook, to help spread the word. Finding where convicted sex offenders actually live is no easy task, and keeping these predators from unmonitored situations where they could come into close contact with children requires constant vigilance. The agency now also provides services to all victims of violent crime.
