One Dead, Two Hospitalized in Hempstead Attack

An attack in Hempstead left one man dead and two others hospitalized early Sunday morning.

Nassau County police said a group of several men and women slashed and stabbed three men with a knife and several broken bottles outside an electronics store on Main Street at 3:28 a.m.

The first victim was taken to Winthrop Hospital in Mineola where he died 90 minutes later.

The second victim was stabbed in the abdomen and had to undergo surgery. He is expected to survive.

The third victim suffered a laceration on his arm and required stitches. The victims names were not released.

Homicide Squad detectives are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
