Take the already stellar Cadillac CTS, chop off two doors and drop a 556-horsepower engine under the hood. Now pick your jaw up off the floor, because Cady’s brought the goods to the 2010 New York International Auto Show with the 2011 CTS-V Coupe.

In case you missed it, that’s a 556-horsepower engine in the CTS-V Coupe. The V8 monster puts out 551 lb.-ft. of torque and shoots the car from zero to 60 in 3.9 seconds, making it Cadillac’s most powerful engine in history. That’s working in tandem with either a six-speed manual or automatic with paddle shifters. The engine, along with other aspects of the car, are shared with its CTS-V Sports Sedan stablemate, and that’s a good thing.
The CTS-V Coupe boasts other features like magnetic ride control, using magneto-rheological technology to alter the cars suspension every millisecond if need be, Brembo brakes and Michelin tires and a 40-gigabyte hard drive behind the center console.
