Cops Seek Help IDing Bay Shore Hit-and-run Victim

Suffolk police are seeking the public’s help in identifying an apparent victim of a hit-and-run crash in Bay Shore on Friday morning. sirens2-300x300

A man was found lying in the roadway at the corner of Pineaire Drive and Heckscher Avenue at approximately 6:20 a.m. The victim was taken to Southside Hospital where his injuries were determined to be consistent with being struck by a vehicle, according to 3rd Squad detectives.  The man, who was in serious condition, was also suffering from hypothermia and it is unclear how long he was in the roadway.

The victim is described as a Hispanic man, approximately 30 years old, about 5’ tall and between 140-150 pounds. He was wearing a black shirt, dark jacket, and blue jeans.

Anyone with information regarding the victim’s identity or about the incident is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS or the Third Squad at 631-854-8352. All calls will be kept confidential.
