A North Fork man was arrested for drunken driving after he nearly collided head-on with a police car on Saturday night, Southold Town Police said. 
Jon P. Viviano, 28, of Cutchogue, was driving his Subaru station wagon eastbound on Route 25 near the Port of Egypt Marina in Southold when he crossed the double-yellow line into oncoming traffic and caused a Southold police officer “to take evasive maneuvers in order to avoid a collision” at 10:37 p.m., police said in a statement.
Viviano was stopped shortly after when police say they found him to be drunk. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and other traffic violations.
