The heroin epidemic continues to barrage Long Island from every angle.
Earlier today, Suffolk County Police arrested two self-admitted smackheads for committing 11 burglaries over the past two-and-a-half weeks.
Since July 29, Commack residents Alex Cutrone and Jamie Culoso stole jewelry and electronics from unoccupied dwellings during daytime hours. Both Cutrone, 23, and Culoso, 20, admitted to the crimes and said they pawned the proceeds to support their heroin habits.
Culoso was also charged with a robbery that occurred on June 25.
Fourth Squad detectives charged Cutrone with nine counts of second degree burglary, and Culoso with 11 counts of second degree burglary and one count of second degree robbery. Both are being held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on August 15.
