by Rashed Mian on February 19, 2011

Kidani Brutus scored 25 points and George Beamon added 23 to lead Manhattan to a 64-63 overtime win over Stony Brook on Saturday.

The Jaspers (6-22) trailed 57-55 after a jumper by Bryan Dougher with 44 seconds left in regulation. Beamon answered with a jumper on Manhattan’s ensuing possession to tie the score at 57, sending the game into overtime.

A tip-in from Danny Carter, followed by a layup from Dallis Joyner, gave the Seawolves (11-16) a 61-57 lead with 3:10 left to play in OT. Two 3-pointers from Brutus and a free throw from Demetrius Jemison gave the Jaspers a 64-61 advantage with 1 minute to go.

Dougher missed a layup as time expired to seal the victory for Manhattan. Marcus Rouse scored 15 points and Dougher added 11 for Stony Brook.

Beamon and Brutus combined to shoot 75 percent from 3-point range (9 of 12) and 16 for 25 overall (64 percent).
