Veteran’s Day is a holiday that began to evolve after World War I.
Even though the “Great War” (what World War I was named at the time)officially ended on June 28, 1919, fighting had ended seven months prior.
On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month an armistice, or temporary cessation of hostilities, went into effect between the Germand and the Allied Countries.
