Sam Waterston, Yusuf Islam (formerly Cat Stevens,) Ozzy Osbourne and The Roots were just some of the performers at the Rally to Restore Sanity in Washington, D.C. Saturday afternoon.

The Roots joined Yusuf Islam on stage for a rendition of his 1971 hit “PEace Train,” only to be interrupted by Rally to Keep Fear Alive host Stephen Colbert, who brought out Ozzy Osbourne. Ozzy launched into “Crazy Train” and went back and forth with Yusuf Islam until they were sent of the stage by O’Jay’s “Love Train.”
Law and Order star Sam Waterston, who was called “the most reasonable seeming man in America,” read a touching poem that included lines like “Did you hear that? No? You’re probably going deaf. It’s your kids back home cooking up crystal meth.”
Don Novello, in the character of Father Guido Sarducci gave a benediction to the crowd and called for peace.
Wilco’s Jeff tweedy and Mavis Staples performed “You’re Not Alone” and Sheryl Crow and Kid Rock sang a duet, which included a green screen cameo of T.I.
And in case the line-up wasn’t random enough, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar showed up.
