Gretchen Jones was named Project Runway Season 8 winner
The Project Runway finale Thursday night revealed an upset when Gretchen Jones was chosen as Project Runway‘s Season 8 winner.

Jones beat out fan favorite Mondo Guerra for the title of top designer, although the judges were torn. Host and judge Heidi Klum and guest judge Jessica Simpson favored Mondo Guerra’s line, while judges Michael Kors and Nina Garcia loved Jones’ collection. This finalist Andy south was the first to be eliminated in the Project Runway finale.
Gretchen Jones offered an earthy, bohemian vibe for her collection, while Mondo Guerra created a wackier, more fun aesthetic. In the end, the judges decided that Jones’ line was more marketable.
Mondo Guerra took the high road, however, saying he got “so much more” from the experience than the title of Project Runway winner.
