For today, at least, the door has been closed: Fox and Cablevision have ended negotiations, with an agreement to resume talking tomorrow.
For now, Cablevision’s 3 million customers have lost access to WNYW Channel 5 and WWOR 9.
Long Islanders will be unable to view today’s football game between the New York Giants and the Detroit Lions, as well as tonight’s NLCS baseball matchup, featuring the Philadelphia Phillies and San Francisco Giants.
“We continue to remain far apart,” said a statement from Fox.
According to a statement from Cablevision, Fox did not negotiate good faith, and this has become “a black eye for broadcast television in America.”
