Two people who were arrested for snatching a woman’s purse in Levittown on Sunday night were later found to be in possession of heroin, Nassau County police said.
Shanna Lintz, 23, of Hicksville, and Gasparino Godino, 31, of Bethpage, pushed a 56-year-old woman to the ground in the King Kullen parking lot on Hempstead Turnpike and drove off with her pocketbook at 10:22 p.m., police said.
The suspects had unsuccessfully tried to steal a 52-year-old woman’s pocketbook at the Waldbaums on Hempstead Turnpike shortly prior, police said.
The suspects were apprehended after they were found sitting in a rented Hyundai Sonata on Shelley Drive in Bethpage. They were found to be in possession of a substance believed to be heroin, police said.
Eighth Squad detectives charged them with robbery, attempted robbery and criminal possession of a controlled substance. They will be arraigned as soon as medically practical.
